¡Que viva la Virgen!
¿No estoy yo aquí, que soy tu madre?
Que hoy nos identifiquemos con Juan Diego cuando escuchó a la Virgen decir: “¿No estoy aquí, yo, que soy tu madre? ¿No soy yo la fuente de tu alegría? ¿No estás tú en el hueco de mi manto, en el cruce de mis brazos? ¿Necesitas algo más?” (Nican Mopohua 119) El amor expresado en estas palabras llenó el alma de Juan Diego de confianza en el mensaje de salvación que él aceptó poco tiempo antes de experimentar las apariciones de la Virgen. Se le quitaron todas las dudas que tenía antes y haría cualquier cosa por la Virgen ya que ella era su madre. Que nuestra relación con la fe sea tan íntima como la relación de Madre e hijo. Hoy celebramos porque si la Virgen es nuestra madre, Jesús es nuestro hermano. ¡Que viva la Virgen!

Am I not here, I who am your mother?
May we identify today with Juan Diego as he heard the Virgin say, “Am I not here, I, who am your mother? Am I not the source of your joy? Are you not in the hollow of my mantle, in the crossing of my arms? Do you need something more?” (Nican Mopohua 119) The love expressed in these words filled Juan Diego’s soul with confidence in the message of salvation that he accepted a short time before he experienced the apparitions of the Virgin. Any doubts that he had before were taken from him and he would do anything for the Virgin since she was his mother. May our relationship with faith be as intimate as the relationship of Mother and son. Today, we celebrate because if the Vigin is our mother, Jesus is our brother. ¡Que viva la Virgen!

Oh Jesús, tú nos llamas: “Síganme”. Bendice, Señor, a todos los que acogen tu llamado. Puede que el camino no sea fácil, pero tenemos la confianza de que todo es posible si caminamos contigo. Que este viaje nos abra los ojos a las maravillas de tu amor por nosotros. Oramos por toda tu gente, por todos los creyentes e incrédulos, por los líderes y seguidores. Oramos por la sanación, el perdón, la compasión, la justicia y la paz. Oramos para que, al seguirte, nosotros también podamos ser pescadores de hombres. Bendícenos en nuestro viaje.
O Jesus, you call us, “Come after me.” Bless, O Lord, all who welcome your call. The path may not be easy, but we have confidence that all things are possible if we walk with you. May this journey, open our eyes to the wonders of your love for us. We pray for all your people, for all believers and unbelievers, for leaders and followers. We pray for healing, for forgiveness, for compassion, for justice, for peace. We pray that as we follow you, we too can be fishers of men. Bless us on our journey.
