(Tuve un breve descanso. La ausencia de un blog el domingo estuvo fuera de mi control. Entonces, espero que hayan tenido la oportunidad de ver el blog que publiqué para el domingo el lunes. Considerando el llamado de Dios como Jeremías lo hizo, todos estamos llamados a ser profetas. En la segunda lectura de la Misa del domingo, Pablo nos dice en (1 Cor. 13:4-7) cómo vivir como profetas).

El amor es comprensivo, el amor es servicial.
y no tiene envidia;
el amor no es presumido ni se evanece;
no es grosero ni egoísta;
no se irrita ni guarda rencor;
no se alegra con la injusticia, sino que goza con la verdad.
El amor disculpa sin límites, confía sin límites,
espera sin límites, soporta sin límites.
Después de pasar dos meses en la Arquidiócesis de Oklahoma, descubrí que ser santo es el dominio de la gente común que vive su fe en las responsabilidades ordinarias de la vida. En el museo sobre la vida del Beato Stanley Rother, uno aprende de un niño común de agricultores de Oklahoma, un estudiante común, un seminarista común, un sacerdote común, un misionero común, un pastor común que se convirtió en un mártir común. El extraordinario mensaje de su vida es que la gente común puede ser santa. El camino a la santidad es el amor mostrado en el mensaje de Pablo.
Todas estas virtudes son ordinarias, pero cuando verdaderamente se vive como persona de fe, uno puede ser profeta. Como concluye Pablo, la mayor virtud es el AMOR.

How to be prophets – Como ser profetas
Love is patient, love is kind.
It is not jealous, it is not pompous,
it is not inflated, it is not rude,
it does not seek its own interests,
it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury,
it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth.
It bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things.
After spending two months in the Archdiocese of Oklahoma, I discovered that being a saint is the domain of ordinary people who life their faith in the ordinary responsibilities of life. In the museum about the life of Blessed Stanley Rother, one learns of an ordinary child of Oklahoma farmers, an ordinary student, an ordinary seminarian, an ordinary priest, an ordinary missionary, an ordinary pastor who became an ordinary martyr. The extraordinary message of his life is that ordinary people can be saints. The way to sanctity is love shown in the message of Paul.
All of these virtues are ordinary, but when truly lived as a person of faith, one may be a prophet. As Paul concludes, the greatest virtue is LOVE.

O Jesus, you call us, “Come after me.” Bless, O Lord, all who welcome your call. The path may not be easy, but we have confidence that all things are possible if we walk with you. May this journey, open our eyes to the wonders of your love for us. We pray for all your people, for all believers and unbelievers, for leaders and followers. We pray for healing, for forgiveness, for compassion, for justice, for peace. We pray that as we follow you, we too can be fishers of men. Bless us on our journey.
