Padre Migrante estará en la radio
Me han pedido que me entrevisten para “Mission Matters Live”, un programa de radio semanal de la Oficina de Misiones Globales de la Arquidiócesis de Chicago. La fecha de transmisión del programa es el 9 de noviembre a las 8:30 am (CST). El programa será pregrabado dos días antes de su transmisión. Cuando tenga el enlace para el programa de radio, lo publicaré en estos blogs. También estará en youtube ya que la entrevista se hará por ZOOM. Cuando reciba los enlaces, los publicaré, aunque estarán disponibles en el momento en que se presenten y estarán disponibles en el podcast a su conveniencia.
Espero esta oportunidad. Jesús vino a traer esperanza a las personas que sufrían en su tiempo. En las iglesias oramos a menudo por los pobres, los enfermos, los abandonados, los perseguidos y las víctimas del mal gobierno y la violencia. Hacemos colectas para los pobres. Cuando se trata de considerar al migrante y al refugiado, nos mantenemos al margen mientras las fuerzas más odiosas desinforman y crean hostilidad hacia las personas más vulnerables de la tierra.
Mientras la gente lee mis historias y las muchas bendiciones que he tenido al caminar y trabajar con migrantes, saben que hay millones de buenas personas que buscan justicia en todo el mundo y que se convierten en migrantes y refugiados cada año. Oren por mí mientras doy voz a la preocupación por tantos sufrimientos entre nosotros.

Padre Migrante to be on radio
I have been asked to be interviewed for “Mission Matters Live”, a weekly radio program of the Office for Global Missions for the Archdiocese of Chicago. The date for airing the program is November 9, at 8:30 am (CST). The program will be pre-recorded two days before it will be aired. When I have the link for the radio program, I will post it on these blogs. It will also be on youtube as the interview will be done on ZOOM. When I get the links, I will post them though they will become available at the time it will be presented and available on podcast at your convenience.
I look forward to this opportunity. Jesus came to bring hope to the suffering people of his time. In churches we pray often for the poor, the ill, the neglected, the persecuted, and victims of bad governance and violence. We take up collections for the poor. When it comes to considering the migrant and refugee, we stand by as the most hateful forces misinform and create hostility to the most vulnerable people on earth.
As people read my stories and the many blessing that I have had walking with and working with migrants, you know that there are millions of good people seeking justice around the world who become migrants and refugees each year. Pray for me as I give voice to concern for so many suffering amongst us.

Oh Jesús, tú nos llamas: “Síganme”. Bendice, Señor, a todos los que acogen tu llamado. Puede que el camino no sea fácil, pero tenemos la confianza de que todo es posible si caminamos contigo. Que este viaje nos abra los ojos a las maravillas de tu amor por nosotros. Oramos por toda tu gente, por todos los creyentes e incrédulos, por los líderes y seguidores. Oramos por la sanación, el perdón, la compasión, la justicia y la paz. Oramos para que, al seguirte, nosotros también podamos ser pescadores de hombres. Bendícenos en nuestro viaje.
O Jesus, you call us, “Come after me.” Bless, O Lord, all who welcome your call. The path may not be easy, but we have confidence that all things are possible if we walk with you. May this journey, open our eyes to the wonders of your love for us. We pray for all your people, for all believers and unbelievers, for leaders and followers. We pray for healing, for forgiveness, for compassion, for justice, for peace. We pray that as we follow you, we too can be fishers of men. Bless us on our journey.
