¡Oh ven!, ¡Oh ven, Emanuel!
Durante esta semana, las lecturas diarias nos cuentan la historia de los días antes del nacimiento de Jesús. Nos preparan para el día del nacimiento de Jesús. El domingo, a José se le dice en un sueño que tome a María como su esposa, y su hijo es concebido por el Espíritu Santo. El lunes el ángel le dice a Zacarías que tendrá un hijo, y por sus dudas se quedaría mudo hasta que naciera el niño. El martes, una vez más leemos cómo el ángel Gabriel se le apareció a María y le dijo que iba a dar a luz al Hijo de Dios. El miércoles, María visita a Isabel y la llama “bendita entre las mujeres”. El jueves, María reza el Magníficat. El viernes nace Juan el Bautista. Y el sábado, Zacarías reza el Benedictus, reconociendo que Juan preparará el camino del Señor.
Que todos apreciemos esta semana que nos presenta una vez más la historia del nacimiento de nuestro Salvador. Que nunca olvidemos el gozo de Su venida.

O Come, O Come, Emmanuel!
During this week, the daily readings tell us the story of the days leading up to the birth of Jesus. They prepare us for the day of Jesus’ birth. On Sunday, Joseph is told in a dream to take Mary as his wife, and her child is conceived by the Holy Spirit. On Monday, Zechariah is told that he will have a son, and for his doubts he would be mute until the child was born. On Tuesday, once again we read how the angel Gabriel appeared to Mary and told her that she was to give birth to the Son of God. On Wednesday, Mary visits Elizabeth and she is called “blessed among women.” On Thursday, Mary prays the Magnificat. On Friday, John the Baptist is born. And on Saturday, Zechariah prays the Benedictus, recognizing that John will prepare the way of the Lord.
May we all appreciate this week presenting us once again with the story of our Savior’s birth. May we never forget the joy of His coming.

Oh Jesús, tú nos llamas: “Síganme”. Bendice, Señor, a todos los que acogen tu llamado. Puede que el camino no sea fácil, pero tenemos la confianza de que todo es posible si caminamos contigo. Que este viaje nos abra los ojos a las maravillas de tu amor por nosotros. Oramos por toda tu gente, por todos los creyentes e incrédulos, por los líderes y seguidores. Oramos por la sanación, el perdón, la compasión, la justicia y la paz. Oramos para que, al seguirte, nosotros también podamos ser pescadores de hombres. Bendícenos en nuestro viaje.
O Jesus, you call us, “Come after me.” Bless, O Lord, all who welcome your call. The path may not be easy, but we have confidence that all things are possible if we walk with you. May this journey, open our eyes to the wonders of your love for us. We pray for all your people, for all believers and unbelievers, for leaders and followers. We pray for healing, for forgiveness, for compassion, for justice, for peace. We pray that as we follow you, we too can be fishers of men. Bless us on our journey.
