Llegué a Baton Rouge
Llegué a Baton Rouge el viernes por la noche. El sábado y el domingo visité varias de las parroquias a las que sirven los redentoristas en la diócesis de Baton Rouge. En solo dos días, me doy cuenta de que la comunidad hispana aquí es única de otras comunidades donde he trabajado. Muchos de los católicos hispanos aquí llegaron después del huracán Katrina en 2005. Vienen de muchos países de América Latina. Hay una gran diversidad entre la comunidad hispana aquí. El Apostolado Hispano funciona casi totalmente en español. Será un momento interesante para conocer la dinámica de esta comunidad.

Arrived in Baton Rouge
I arrived in Baton Rouge on Friday evening. On Saturday and Sunday, I visited several of the parishes that Redemptorists serve in the Diocese of Baton Rouge. In just two days, I realize that the Hispanic community here is unique from other communities where I have worked. Many of the Hispanic Catholics here arrived after hurricane Katrina in 2005. They come from many countries of Latin America. There is great diversity among the Hispanic community here. The Apostolado Hispano functions almost totally in Spanish. It will be an interesting time getting to know the dynamics of this community.
Pray for me and the Apostolado Hispano in Baton Rouge. I can tell already that I will be learning much from the people here.

Oh Jesús, tú nos llamas: “Síganme”. Bendice, Señor, a todos los que acogen tu llamado. Puede que el camino no sea fácil, pero tenemos la confianza de que todo es posible si caminamos contigo. Que este viaje nos abra los ojos a las maravillas de tu amor por nosotros. Oramos por toda tu gente, por todos los creyentes e incrédulos, por los líderes y seguidores. Oramos por la sanación, el perdón, la compasión, la justicia y la paz. Oramos para que, al seguirte, nosotros también podamos ser pescadores de hombres. Bendícenos en nuestro viaje.
O Jesus, you call us, “Come after me.” Bless, O Lord, all who welcome your call. The path may not be easy, but we have confidence that all things are possible if we walk with you. May this journey, open our eyes to the wonders of your love for us. We pray for all your people, for all believers and unbelievers, for leaders and followers. We pray for healing, for forgiveness, for compassion, for justice, for peace. We pray that as we follow you, we too can be fishers of men. Bless us on our journey.
