World Day of Migrants / Día Mundial del Migrante
Lo siento a todos que sigue este blog. Hemos tenido un problema con el servicio del correo para Padre Migrante. Hoy tenemos repetición de un poste el martes. Esperamos que hemos corregido el problema. El mensaje del Papa Francisco por Día del Migrante tiene nueve párrafos. Por hoy y los próximos ocho días, voy a ofrecer una reflexión de cada párrafo.
(El domingo, 25 de septiembre, la Iglesia celebra la 108ª Jornada Mundial del Migrante y del Refugiado. Ayer destaqué un párrafo, pero me gustaría pasar el resto de esta semana ofreciendo reflexiones sobre el Mensaje del Papa Francisco para el día. El mensaje completo se encuentra en:)
Busca nuestra verdadera patria
En el evangelio de Juan comienza nuestra búsqueda del sentido último de la vida, “En el principio era el Verbo…” (Jn 1,1)El Papa Francisco nos habla de nuestro “viaje” humano. El mundo fue creado por “el Verbo”. A menudo, consideramos nuestra existencia humana en la división del mundo en naciones. Incluso llamamos a la Ciudad del Vaticano, una nación. En lugar de hablar de fronteras nacionales, Francisco nos pide que consideremos el sentido último de nuestro “viaje” en la vida.
El sentido último de nuestro “viaje” en este mundo es la búsqueda de la verdadera patria, el Reino de Dios inaugurado por Jesucristo, que encontrará su plena realización cuando Él vuelva en su gloria.
Esta frase inicial nos lleva de la consideración de los límites de las fronteras nacionales a la búsqueda del sentido de la vida para todo el mundo. La búsqueda de la “verdadera patria” es el Reino de Dios. Se refiere a San Juan Pablo II, para descubrir nuestra “verdadera patria”, el Reino de Dios. Ese reino no se encuentra en una nación o en otro mundo.
“El Reino de Dios está en nosotros. Aunque todavía es escatológico, sea el futuro del mundo, y de la humanidad, se encuentra al mismo tiempo en nosotros”. (San Juan Pablo II, noviembre de 1989.)
Al considerar el primer párrafo del mensaje del Papa, debemos dejar los titulares a un lado. Nuestro camino de fe no es político, sino el camino de cada una de las personas nacidas en este mundo. En lugar de centrarnos en lo que nos divide, tenemos que centrarnos en la luz en la oscuridad. Mientras leo, estudio y camino con los migrantes y refugiados, el gran desafío es mirar por encima de las “tinieblas” para descubrir la “búsqueda de nuestra verdadera patria”.
Hay una promesa en el Evangelio de Juan, de que en Dios, podemos darnos cuenta del significado último de nuestro viaje.
Lo que fue hecho tenía vida en Él, y para los hombres la vida era la luz. La luz brilla en las tinieblas, y las tinieblas no la impidieron. (Juan 1:3-5)

I’m sorry to everyone who follows this blog. We have had a problem with the mail service for Padre Migrante. Today we have repeat of a post on Tuesday. We hope that we have corrected the problem. Pope Francis’ message for Migrant’s Day has nine paragraphs. For today and the next eight days, I am going to offer a reflection of each paragraph.

Search for our true homeland
In the gospel of John, our search for meaning of life begins, “In the beginning was the Word…” (Jn 1:1) Pope Francis speaks to us about our human “journey”. The world was created by “the Word.” Often, we consider our human existence in our division of the world into nations. We even call Vatican City, a nation. Rather than speak of borders and nations, Francis asks us to consider the “ultimate meaning of our ‘journey'” in life.
The ultimate meaning of our “journey” in this world is the search for our true homeland, the Kingdom of God inaugurated by Jesus Christ, which will find its full realization when he comes in glory.
This opening sentence lifts us from considering the limits of national borders to the search for meaning of life for all people. The search for our “true homeland” is the Kingdom of God. He refers to St. John Paul II, to discover our “true homeland”, the Kingdom of God. That kingdom is not found in a nation or another world.
“God’s Kingdom is in us. Even though it is still eschatological, in the future of the world and of humanity, at the same time it is found in us.” (St. John Paul II, November 1989.)
As we consider the first paragraph of the Pope’s message, we need to put the headlines to the side. Our journey of faith is not political, but the journey of each and every person born into this world. Rather than focus on what divides us, we need to focus on the light in the darkness. While I read about, study and walk with migrants and refugees, the great challenge is to look over the “darkness” to discover the “search for our true homeland.”
There is a promise in the Gospel of John that in God, we can realize the ultimate meaning of our journey.
What came to be through him was life, and this life was the light of the human race; the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. (Jn. 1:3-5)

Oh Jesús, tú nos llamas: “Síganme”. Bendice, Señor, a todos los que acogen tu llamado. Puede que el camino no sea fácil, pero tenemos la confianza de que todo es posible si caminamos contigo. Que este viaje nos abra los ojos a las maravillas de tu amor por nosotros. Oramos por toda tu gente, por todos los creyentes e incrédulos, por los líderes y seguidores. Oramos por la sanación, el perdón, la compasión, la justicia y la paz. Oramos para que, al seguirte, nosotros también podamos ser pescadores de hombres. Bendícenos en nuestro viaje.
O Jesus, you call us, “Come after me.” Bless, O Lord, all who welcome your call. The path may not be easy, but we have confidence that all things are possible if we walk with you. May this journey, open our eyes to the wonders of your love for us. We pray for all your people, for all believers and unbelievers, for leaders and followers. We pray for healing, for forgiveness, for compassion, for justice, for peace. We pray that as we follow you, we too can be fishers of men. Bless us on our journey.
