Actualización del libro
Durante más de treinta años he caminado con personas que, por cualquier motivo que los motivara, abandonaron sus países de origen. Si bien la mayor parte de mi experiencia ha sido con personas de México, América Central y del Sur. He tenido una exposición significativa a emigrantes de Asia, África, Europa y naciones insulares. Mi vida en el ministerio me expone a emigrantes que viven en más de veinticinco estados de los Estados Unidos y varios estados de México.
He caminado con esos emigrantes. No es como dice el viejo refrán “caminar en los zapatos de otro”, pero he acompañado a emigrantes en su camino. No los acompaño como trabajador social, abogado, médico, político o guía. Mi esperanza es ser un amigo, un pastor y un compañero.
Durante varios años quise contarles a otros mi experiencia con los migrantes. Durante tres años he escrito muchos blogs sobre mi camino con los migrantes. Y anuncié en esos blogs que estaba escribiendo un libro. Por fin el sueño de publicar mi libro se está haciendo realidad. “Camina con Mi Pueblo, Ministerio Una Vida en Migración” ya está listo para su publicación. Recibí su borrador final para su aprobación. Yo mismo lo he leído tantas veces que, como autor, siempre me parece que quiero agregar algo, pero hoy lo envié de nuevo a Publicaciones Liguori, con mi última corrección. El español estaba bien, pero faltaba una palabra en la versión en inglés. Se hace. Cualquier corrección o error tipográfico adicional corresponde a los lectores.
Si hay gente buscando respuestas a los problemas de inmigración o programas para evangelizar a nuestro pueblo, el libro será una decepción. Presenta mi vida con los migrantes y mis reflexiones sobre la experiencia de dedicar la vida a caminar con los emigrantes. Que otros acompañan a los emigrantes también.
Para conseguir el libro, estoy esperando la orientación de los editores de Liguori y seguramente lo daré a conocer en el sitio web padremigrante.org y en los blogs.

Book Update
For over thirty years, I have walked with people who for whatever reasons motivated them, left their countries of origin. While most of my experience has been with people from Mexico, Central and South America. I have had significant exposure to emigrants from Asia, Africa, Europe, and island nations. My life in ministry exposes me to emigrants presently living in over twenty-five states in the United States and several states in Mexico.
I have walked with those emigrants. It is not like to old saying, “to walk in another’s shoes”, but I have accompanied emigrants on their journey. I do not accompany them as a social worker, lawyer, doctor, politician or guide. My hope is to be a friend, a pastor, and a companion.
For several years, I wanted to tell others about my experience with migrants. For three years, I have written many blogs about my camino with migrants. And I announced in those blogs that I was writing a book. Finally, the dream of publishing my book is coming true. “Walk with My People, A Life in Migration Ministry” is ready for publishing. I received its final draft for approval. I have read it so many times myself, that as its author I always seem something I want to add, but today, I sent it back to Liguori Publications, with my last correction. The Spanish was fine, but one word was missing in the English version. It is done. Any further corrections or typos are for readers to make.
If people are looking for answers to immigration problems or for programs to evangelize our people, the book will be a disappointment. It presents my life with migrants, and my reflections on the experience of dedicating one’s life to walk with emigrants. May others join in the walk.
As for ordering the book, I am waiting for guidance from the publishers at Liguori, and will certainly make it known on the padremigrante.org website and blogs.

Que este viaje nos abra los ojos a las maravillas de tu amor por nosotros. Oramos por toda tu gente, por todos los creyentes e incrédulos, por los líderes y seguidores. Oramos por la sanación, el perdón, la compasión, la justicia y la paz. Oramos para que, al seguirte, nosotros también podamos ser pescadores de hombres. Bendícenos en nuestro viaje.
O Jesus, you call us, “Come after me.” Bless, O Lord, all who welcome your call. The path may not be easy, but we have confidence that all things are possible if we walk with you. May this journey, open our eyes to the wonders of your love for us. We pray for all your people, for all believers and unbelievers, for leaders and followers. We pray for healing, for forgiveness, for compassion, for justice, for peace. We pray that as we follow you, we too can be fishers of men. Bless us on our journey.
