¿Quién debería leer Camina con Mi Pueblo?
Cuando comencé a escribir “Camina con Mi Pueblo”, quería presentar una compresión católica del ministerio con migrantes e inmigrantes. Obviamente, quería que las personas interesadas en el ministerio comprendieran, amaran y sirvieran a las personas que son muy difamadas en la sociedad actual. Los migrantes me han permitido caminar con ellos, y ellos han caminado conmigo. Pero, desde el comienzo mismo de la escritura de este libro, quería llegar a todas las personas que tienen una interacción regular con los migrantes. Esperaba poder llegar a los empleadores, educadores, profesionales médicos, sociales y legales que sirven y acompañan a los migrantes e inmigrantes en sus comunidades.
Hasta ahora, me he dedicado principalmente a promover el libro en entornos religiosos. Pero varias personas que participan en servicios sociales y voluntarios que sirven a los pobres me han informado que están animando a las personas con las que trabajan a leer el libro para comprender mejor la vida de los migrantes. Hasta ahora, sé de dos clubes de lectura que están leyendo el libro y discutiéndolo.
Espero que los proveedores de servicios legales de inmigración, los defensores de la justicia social y los proveedores encuentren este libro útil y alentador. El libro invita a los lectores a entender el ministerio de migración como un llamado a la justicia para los inmigrantes y mucho más. Se trata de acompañar a los migrantes e inmigrantes en su adaptación a la vida en los Estados Unidos.

Who should read Walk with My People
When I began writing “Walk with My People”, I wanted to present a Catholic understanding of ministry with migrants and immigrants. Obviously, I wanted people interested in ministry to understand, love and serve people who are badly maligned in society today. Migrants have allowed me to walk with them, and they have walked with me. But, from the very beginning of writing this book, I wanted to reach all people having regular interaction with migrants. I hoped that I could reach employers, educators, medical, social and legal professionals who serve and accompany migrants and immigrants in their communities.
So far, I have primarily engaged in promoting the book in religious settings. But several people engaged in social services and volunteers in serving the poor have informed me that they are encouraging people with whom they work to read the book to better understand migrant life. So far, I know of two book clubs reading the book and discussing it.
I hope that immigration legal service providers, social justice advocates and providers find this book helpful and encouraging. The book invites readers to understand migration ministry as calling for justice for immigrants and much more. It is about accompanying migrants and immigrants in adjusting to life in the United States.
