Padre Migrante visitará la Diócesis de Richmond
Durante los últimos dos meses, escribí sobre mi nuevo trabajo con la Red Católica de Trabajadores Agrícolas Migrantes. Hoy visito la Diócesis de Richmond, VA. Dirigí un retiro para sus voluntarios, catequistas y líderes del ministerio campesino en 2019. Visité el ministerio Migrante de la Costa Este y llegué poco antes de que COVID interfiriera con todo el ministerio en 2020.
Al prepararme para esta visita, descubrí que, en agosto de 1991, el ministro hispano en Onley, VA buscó capacitación de CMFN para voluntarios que trabajan con campesinos y sus familias. Ahora,Es el pastor de Onley quien me ha invitado a venir y presentar a su comunidad el trabajo de CMFN. Muchos de los actuales ministros campesinos en la Costa Este desconocen la conexión de su ministerio con el CMFN en el pasado. Será interesante aprender de aquellos que pueden haber estado involucrados en el ministerio campesino en la región hace más de treinta años.
Con suerte, podemos encontrar algunas personas con memoria histórica del alcance de los inmigrantes hace más de treinta años.

Padre Migrante to visit Diocese of Richmond
For the past couple months, I have been writing about my taking on a new job with Catholic Migrant Farmworker Network. Today, I am going to visit the Diocese of Richmond, VA. I directed a retreat for their volunteers, catechists and leaders of campesino ministry in 2019. I visited the Eastern Shore Migrant ministry, arriving just before COVID interfered with all ministry in 2020.
Preparing for this visit, I discovered that in August 1991, the Hispanic minister in Onley, VA sought training from CMFN for volunteers working with agricultural workers and their families. It is the present pastor of Onley who has invited me to come and introduce his community to the work of CMFN. Many of the present campesino ministers on the Eastern Shore are unaware of the connection of their ministry with CMFN in the past. It will be interesting learning from those who may have been involved in campesino ministry in the region over thirty years ago.
Hopefully, we may find some people with historical memory of migrant outreach over thirty years ago.

May this journey, open our eyes to the wonders of your love for us. We pray for all your people, for all believers and unbelievers, for leaders and followers. We pray for healing, for forgiveness, for compassion, for justice, for peace. We pray that as we follow you, we too can be fishers of men. Bless us on our journey.
