Alegría de RICA
En la Vigilia Pascual, el resplandor de las velas, el olor del incienso y el canto del Pregón nos preparan para una noche de fe y alegría. Después de la homilía, los catecúmenos pasan al frente. Se bendice el agua y los candidatos profesan su fe. Cuando los catecúmenos son bautizados y confirmados y reciben la Eucaristía, exudan alegría. Después de que termina el servicio, todos quieren fotos.
Anoche 36 candidatos recibieron los sacramentos del Bautismo, Confirmación y Eucaristía en nuestra Vigilia Pascual por el Apostolado Hispano de Baton Rouge. La alegría del grupo es mi recuerdo perdurable de la noche. Que todos estemos tan gozosos en la fe como los miembros más nuevos de nuestra fe.

Joy of RCIA
At the Easter Vigil, the glow of candles, the smell of the incense and the singing of the Exultet prepare us for an evening of faith and joy. After the homily, the catechumens come forward. The water is blessed, and the candidates profess their faith. As the catechumens are Baptized and Confirmed and receive Eucharist, they exude joy. After the service ends, all want pictures.
Last night 36 candidates received the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist at our Easter Vigil for the Hispanic Apostolate of Baton Rouge. The joy of the group is my lasting memory of the evening. May we all be as joyful in the faith as those newest members of our faith.

Oh Jesús, tú nos llamas: “Síganme”. Bendice, Señor, a todos los que acogen tu llamado. Puede que el camino no sea fácil, pero tenemos la confianza de que todo es posible si caminamos contigo. Que este viaje nos abra los ojos a las maravillas de tu amor por nosotros. Oramos por toda tu gente, por todos los creyentes e incrédulos, por los líderes y seguidores. Oramos por la sanación, el perdón, la compasión, la justicia y la paz. Oramos para que, al seguirte, nosotros también podamos ser pescadores de hombres. Bendícenos en nuestro viaje.
O Jesus, you call us, “Come after me.” Bless, O Lord, all who welcome your call. The path may not be easy, but we have confidence that all things are possible if we walk with you. May this journey, open our eyes to the wonders of your love for us. We pray for all your people, for all believers and unbelievers, for leaders and followers. We pray for healing, for forgiveness, for compassion, for justice, for peace. We pray that as we follow you, we too can be fishers of men. Bless us on our journey.
