¿Qué pasó con los Apóstoles en Pentecostés? Fueron llenos del Espíritu Santo. Hablaron y la gente escuchó, se reunieron de todas las naciones y se convirtieron en una comunidad de creyentes. La semana pasada escribí sobre los principios del Encuentro. Los principios clave son la escucha, el diálogo, el discernimiento y el acompañamiento. Fue la experiencia de Pentecostés cuando comenzó la Iglesia. Hubo escucha y diálogo entre los Apóstoles y la multitud.
En Hechos 2:42, “Acudían asiduamente a la enseñanza de los apóstoles, a la convivencia, a la fracción del pan y a las oraciones”. Parece que lo que ahora se conoce como los principios del Encuentro, fue el proceso de la formación más temprana de comunidades de fe. El proceso del Encuentro tiene una base sólida en la evangelización y debemos continuar honrando el proceso a medida que surge del fundamento de los Apóstoles y el Espíritu Santo.

What happened to the Apostles on Pentecost? They were filled with the Holy Spirit. They spoke, people listened, they came together from all nations and they became a community of believers. This past week, I have written about the principles of the Encuentro. The key principles are listening, dialogue, discernment and accompaniment. It was the experience of Pentecost as the Church began. There was listening and dialogue taking place between the Apostles and the crowd.
In Acts 2:42, “The devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles, and to the communal life, to the breaking of the bread and to the prayers.” It appears that what is now known as the principles of Encuentro, was the process of the earliest formation of communities of faith. The Encuentro process has solid foundation in evangelization and we need to continue to honor the process as it rises from the foundation of the Apostles and the Holy Spirit.

Oh Jesús, tú nos llamas: “Síganme”. Bendice, Señor, a todos los que acogen tu llamado. Puede que el camino no sea fácil, pero tenemos la confianza de que todo es posible si caminamos contigo. Que este viaje nos abra los ojos a las maravillas de tu amor por nosotros. Oramos por toda tu gente, por todos los creyentes e incrédulos, por los líderes y seguidores. Oramos por la sanación, el perdón, la compasión, la justicia y la paz. Oramos para que, al seguirte, nosotros también podamos ser pescadores de hombres. Bendícenos en nuestro viaje.
O Jesus, you call us, “Come after me.” Bless, O Lord, all who welcome your call. The path may not be easy, but we have confidence that all things are possible if we walk with you. May this journey, open our eyes to the wonders of your love for us. We pray for all your people, for all believers and unbelievers, for leaders and followers. We pray for healing, for forgiveness, for compassion, for justice, for peace. We pray that as we follow you, we too can be fishers of men. Bless us on our journey.
