Coraje para resistir la violencia
Hace dos días, terminé el blog diciendo: “Se necesita alentía para resistir el racismo, la xenofobia y la avaricia”. Después de asesinato de Charlie Kirk, que ocurrió ayer en Utah, necesitamos “coraje para resistir la violencia”. La violencia no es la respuesta a la polarización y la división que vemos en el mundo actual. Por favor, reconozcan que la violencia no aborda la retórica de derecha/izquierda, liberal/conservador o cualquier otra forma en que se exprese la polarización de la sociedad actual. Necesitamos aprender a escuchar, dialogar y estar dispuestos a trabajar juntos por la paz. Que la paz sea con todos ustedes.

Courage to resist violence
Two days ago, I ended the blog saying, “Courage is needed to resist racism, xenophobia and greed.” In the wake of Charlie Kirk’s murder yesterday in Utah, we need “courage to resist violence.” Violence is not the answer to the polarization and division we see in today’s world. Please recognize that violence does not address the rhetoric of right/left, liberal/conservative, or any other form of polarization in today’s society. We need to learn the art of listening, dialogue and willingness to work together for peace. Peace be with you all.

O Jesus, you call us, “Come after me.” Bless, O Lord, all who welcome your call. The path may not be easy, but we have confidence that all things are possible if we walk with you. May this journey, open our eyes to the wonders of your love for us. We pray for all your people, for all believers and unbelievers, for leaders and followers. We pray for healing, for forgiveness, for compassion, for justice, for peace. We pray that as we follow you, we too can be fishers of men. Bless us on our journey.
