Regresando a México
Espero con ansias las próximas semanas en México. Estuve en Kansas City para la boda de una de mis primas. Fue un buen descanso, pero mañana el P. Leo Moctezuma y yo iremos a Tijuana a visitar varios sitios de casas migrantes. También visitaremos a varios religiosos, religiosas, personal y voluntarios en los refugios. También visitaremos con el arzobispo de Tijuana. Esta será nuestra primera visita a la frontera y planeamos pasar diez días visitando comunidades desde Tijuana hasta Nogales, Sonora.
Nuestra comunidad redentorista tiene una larga historia de trabajo con migrantes, inmigrantes y refugiados en todo el mundo. Nuestra búsqueda es particular para responder a los desafíos del ministerio a largo plazo con personas que pueden estar esperando los procesos políticos en torno a la migración para adjudicar sus peticiones. No tenemos respuestas a las preguntas que estamos planteando, por lo que estas visitas son una parte importante de nuestra iniciativa.
Quiero advertir a las personas que se están acostumbrando a estos blogs diarios. Es posible que las próximas dos semanas tenga una oportunidad limitada para escribir y publicar blogs regulares, así que, por hoy, oren por nosotros en nuestras visitas a los albergues para migrantes desde Tijuana hasta Nogales. Y oren por los migrantes del mundo.

Heading back to Mexico
I am so looking forward to the next few weeks in Mexico. I have been in Kansas City for the wedding of one of my cousins. It was a good break, but tomorrow Fr. Leo Moctezuma and I will go to Tijuana to visit several migrant housing sites. We will also visit several religious men, women, staff and volunteers at the shelters. We will also visit with the Archbishop of Tijuana. This will be our first visit on the border, and we plan on spending ten days visiting communities from Tijuana to Nogales, Sonora.
Our Redemptorist community has a long history of working with migrants, immigrants, and refugees around the world. Our search is particular to responding to the challenges of longer term ministry with people who may be waiting for the political processes around migration to adjudicate their petitions. We do not have answers to questions that we are posing, so these visits are an important part of our initiative.
I want to warn people who are becoming accustomed to these daily blogs. The next two weeks I may have limited opportunity to write and publish regular blogs, so, for today, please pray for us on our visits to migrant shelters from Tijuana to Nogales. And pray for the migrants of the world.
Oh Jesús, tú nos llamas: “Síganme”. Bendice, Señor, a todos los que acogen tu llamado. Puede que el camino no sea fácil, pero tenemos la confianza de que todo es posible si caminamos contigo. Que este viaje nos abra los ojos a las maravillas de tu amor por nosotros. Oramos por toda tu gente, por todos los creyentes e incrédulos, por los líderes y seguidores. Oramos por la sanación, el perdón, la compasión, la justicia y la paz. Oramos para que, al seguirte, nosotros también podamos ser pescadores de hombres. Bendícenos en nuestro viaje.
O Jesus, you call us, “Come after me.” Bless, O Lord, all who welcome your call. The path may not be easy, but we have confidence that all things are possible if we walk with you. May this journey, open our eyes to the wonders of your love for us. We pray for all your people, for all believers and unbelievers, for leaders and followers. We pray for healing, for forgiveness, for compassion, for justice, for peace. We pray that as we follow you, we too can be fishers of men. Bless us on our journey.
