A Contracorriente
En el Capítulo Tres de la “Llamada a la Santidad” nos llama a “Ir a contracorriente”. Está claro que hay problemas a nuestro alrededor en la sociedad e incluso dentro de la Iglesia. No es fácil navegar las aguas turbulentas de este tiempo. Uno de los desafíos más difíciles es considerar nuestro mundo guiado por las palabras de las Bienaventuranzas, el ejemplo de Jesús y los santos.
Puede haber muchas teorías sobre lo que es la santidad, abundantes explicaciones y distinciones. Esa reflexión podría ser útil, pero nada es más iluminador que volver a las palabras de Jesús y recoger su modo de transmitir la verdad….. «¿Cómo se hace para llegar a ser un buen cristiano?», la respuesta es sencilla: es necesario hacer, cada uno a su modo, lo que dice Jesús en el sermón de las bienaventuranzas. El Papa Francisco presenta una hermosa reflexión sobre las Bienaventuranzas. Ofrece algunos párrafos sobre cada una de las bienaventuranzas. Tomando una bienaventuranza cada día, durante los próximos ocho días, los invito a reflexionar también sobre ellas. Going against the flow
In Chapter Three of the “Call to Holiness” calls us to “Go against the flow”. It is clear that there are many problems around us in society and even within the Church. It is not easy to navigate the troubled waters of our time. One of the more difficult challenges of today is to consider our world with guidance in the words of the Beatitudes, the example of Jesus and the saints.
There can be any number of theories about what constitutes holiness, with various explanations and distinctions. Such reflection may be useful, but nothing is more enlightening than turning to Jesus’ words and seeing his way of teaching the truth…..“What must one do to be a good Christian?”, the answer is clear. We have to do, each in our own way, what Jesus told us in the Sermon on the Mount. (GE 63)
Pope Francis presents a beautiful reflection on the Beatitudes. He offers a few paragraphs on each of the Beatitudes. Oh Jesús, tú nos llamas: “Síganme”. Bendice, Señor, a todos los que acogen tu llamado. Puede que el camino no sea fácil, pero tenemos la confianza de que todo es posible si caminamos contigo. Que este viaje nos abra los ojos a las maravillas de tu amor por nosotros. Oramos por toda tu gente, por todos los creyentes e incrédulos, por los líderes y seguidores. Oramos por la sanación, el perdón, la compasión, la justicia y la paz. Oramos para que, al seguirte, nosotros también podamos ser pescadores de hombres. Bendícenos en nuestro viaje.
O Jesus, you call us, “Come after me.” Bless, O Lord, all who welcome your call. The path may not be easy, but we have confidence that all things are possible if we walk with you. May this journey, open our eyes to the wonders of your love for us. We pray for all your people, for all believers and unbelievers, for leaders and followers. We pray for healing, for forgiveness, for compassion, for justice, for peace. We pray that as we follow you, we too can be fishers of men. Bless us on our journey.
