Vengan a mí los que están cansados
La Red Católica de Trabajadores Agrícolas Migrantes reúne a personas que ofrecen atención pastoral a los trabajadores agrícolas migrantes para escuchar el mensaje de Jesús del evangelio de hoy. “Aprendan de mí, que soy manso y humilde, y sus almas encontrarán descanso. Pues mi yugo es suave y mi carga ligera”. Vivimos en una nación productiva en agricultura más que cualquier otra nación. Esa productividad se debe a los agricultores y trabajadores de todo este país, a quienes a menudo damos por sentado. No solo necesitan nuestro apoyo y gratitud. Necesitan un cuidado pastoral que preste atención a los desafíos que enfrentan cuando su trabajo les impide participar en las actividades ordinarias de las iglesias.
El trabajo estacional en la agricultura crea momentos de intensa participación laboral. Los momentos de estrés notables en las comunidades agrícolas tienen durante las cosechas, pero hay muchos otros momentos en los que los trabajadores tienen que trabajar muchas horas. Los largos días incluyen la siembra, el riego, la construcción y el cultivo. Intensos momentos estacionales en el campo, hace que sea importante que las personas en el ministerio sean creativas en el uso del tiempo que Dios nos da para servir mejor a las comunidades rurales.
CMFN invita a las comunidades rurales a contactarnos para recibir orientación en la preparación de parroquias y diócesis para responder mejor al cuidado pastoral de los trabajadores agrícolas, especialmente aquellos que responden a las necesidades laborales estacionales. Come to me, all who labor
The Catholic Migrant Farmworker Network brings people who offer pastoral care for migrant farmworkers together to hear Jesus’ message of today’s gospel. “Learn from me, for I am meek and humble; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.” We live in a nation productive in agriculture more than any other nation. That productivity is due to farmers and workers across this nation whom we often take for granted. They not only need our support and gratitude. They need pastoral care that pays attention to the challenges that they face when their work prevents them from participating in ordinary activities of churches.
Seasonal work in agriculture creates times of intense labor participation. The noticeable times of stress in agricultural communities have to do with harvests, but there are many other times when farmworkers may experience having to work long hours. These long days may involve planting, irrigation, construction and cultivating crops. Seasonal moments of intense labor in our fields, makes it important that people in ministry be creative in using the time that God gives us to better serve our rural communities.

Oh Jesús, tú nos llamas: “Síganme”. Bendice, Señor, a todos los que acogen tu llamado. Puede que el camino no sea fácil, pero tenemos la confianza de que todo es posible si caminamos contigo. Que este viaje nos abra los ojos a las maravillas de tu amor por nosotros. Oramos por toda tu gente, por todos los creyentes e incrédulos, por los líderes y seguidores. Oramos por la sanación, el perdón, la compasión, la justicia y la paz. Oramos para que, al seguirte, nosotros también podamos ser pescadores de hombres. Bendícenos en nuestro viaje.
O Jesus, you call us, “Come after me.” Bless, O Lord, all who welcome your call. The path may not be easy, but we have confidence that all things are possible if we walk with you. May this journey, open our eyes to the wonders of your love for us. We pray for all your people, for all believers and unbelievers, for leaders and followers. We pray for healing, for forgiveness, for compassion, for justice, for peace. We pray that as we follow you, we too can be fishers of men. Bless us on our journey.
