24. Lent: Vámonos a soñar – Let us Dream

Vámonos a soñar

Vámonos a soñar”.

Let us Dream

The prologue to Let Us Dream calls on us to “let ourselves be touched by other’s pain.”  (p. 5) Pope Francis wants us to “dream big” as people moved to make our future better. (p. 6) “The task is for all of us.” (p. 6) Let Us Dream promises us that together we can make a better future.

The path to a better future promises that we do not walk on that path alone. The book only contains three chapters that follow the familiar Hispanic missionary method of SEE, JUDGE and ACT, responding to the global crises of our time. He invites us to look beyond the frontiers of home, parish, community and nation, to concern ourselves with the whole world and to face the challenges of our times and the future.

Considering Pope Francis dream, Redemptorists internationally have called on all of our members and those who partner with us in mission to be “Missionaries to a Wounded World.” We are called to be Good Samaritans reaching out to the homeless, migrants, immigrants, the spiritual and emotionally wounded. Through God’s grace and the acceptance of our own words, we can become “wounded healers.”

At the end of the Prologue, the Pope asks: “Let us talk this over. Let us dare to dream.”

O Jesus, you call us, “Come after me.” Bless, O Lord, all who welcome your call. The path may not be easy, but we have confidence that all things are possible if we walk with you. May this journey, open our eyes to the wonders of your love for us. We pray for all your people, for all believers and unbelievers, for leaders and followers. We pray for healing, for forgiveness, for compassion, for justice, for peace. We pray that as we follow you, we too can be fishers of men. Bless us on our journey.
